The best Bulgarian international referee Ivaylo Ivanov received a prestigious assignment at the African Women's Volleyball Championship in Nairobi (Kenya).
Ivanov will be the first referee for the quarter-final match between the host and reigning champion Kenya and Algeria, which is tonight at 7:00 PM Bulgarian time in the "Kasarani Indoor Arena".
The appointment is one of the most responsible in today's program, as the hosts' match is in the spotlight. Kenya is defending its title and continues the battle for new African gold.
The Kenyans reached the quarter-finals after a convincing 3:0 victory over Nigeria (25:21, 25:17, 25:15). Algeria also did not lose a set in the 1/8-finals, eliminating Senegal with 3:0 (25:15, 25:17, 25:16).
The clash also has a serious history. Kenya and Algeria have met three times in the final of the African Championship, and the Algerians have not defeated the Kenyans in the competition since their return to it in 2003.
