Bulgaria suffered its third consecutive loss at the home European Championship, we are 'hanging by a thread' for our qualification for the 2025 World Cup.
Yesterday, at 'Levski Sofia' Hall, the latest matches of the stream were played. Here's what happened on the sixth day of competition at EuroVolley 2024 in Group A:
1. Portugal - Poland 0:3 (19:25, 13:25, 17:25)
In their latest match, 'Poland's Team' met no resistance from the Iberian squad. The 'Navigators' were swept by Poland, being left with 19, 13, and 17 points in the three sets, respectively. With their latest clean victory and only one loss – to leader France – the Poles calmly sealed their participation in the semi-final phase of the European U18 Volleyball Championship, which will also be played at 'Levski Sofia' Hall. 'Poland's Team's' opponent will be Italy, which decisively topped Group B, playing in Plovdiv. The Poles and Italians will certainly play a quality and unpredictable match.

2. Ukraine - Turkey 1:3 (23:25, 25:18, 20:25, 19:25)
Our southeastern neighbors deservedly celebrated their second consecutive success just a day after defeating Bulgaria 3:0. This time, Turkey broke Ukraine's resistance 3:1. The first set went to the Turks, who won it minimally 25:23. The Ukrainians managed to play a good second set and equalized the score – 1:1 after 25:18. However, Turkey mobilized and won the remaining two parts with 20 and 19 points respectively. In this way, our southeastern neighbors eliminated Bulgaria from the top 4 in Group B, leaving them in a humiliating 5th place in the host stream and tournament. The last day promises to be extremely interesting, with its results determining the fate of the teams that will qualify for next year's World Championship.

3. Bulgaria - France 0:3 (22:25, 13:25, 22:25)
The 'Roosters' delivered a resounding 'slap in the face' that will be remembered for a long time. Not only because of the bitterness of being eliminated from the home European Championship, but also because the talented Bulgarian volleyball player Viden Natsev faced his homeland wearing the French jersey. The match was one-sided, with minor exceptions at the beginning and end when our boys 'woke up' a bit, but lacked the strength for anything more. Of course, they are the least 'guilty' for this problem. Unfortunately, the score of 22:25, 13:25, and 22:25 describes only one part of the problem – the technical and athletic aspect. The staff should take responsibility for this performance, but the main reason for our collapse lies in the overall management of the Federation. The BFV seems to legitimize the 'farce' it has created and 'successfully' developed...

4. Austria - Finland 0:3 (24:26, 23:25, 21:25)
The 'Suomis' achieved a valuable and deserved victory over the 'Wunderteam', which cemented their third position in Group A. Unfortunately for them, this will not bring them qualification for the EuroVolley 2024 Final Four, but they definitely leave a very good impression with their performance throughout the tournament. Finland has always been a likeable, yet 'tricky' team for opponents, which was confirmed once again in this championship. 'Suomi' secured a 3:0 victory over Austria, leaving their opponent with 24, 23, and 21 points respectively. The match was even, but thanks to their clean victory, Finland is bravely looking ahead – the team has very real chances to qualify for the U19 World Championship 2025, as they hold their fate in their own hands.
