Bulgarian national player Asparuh Asparuhov will continue his career in Poland! We announced the outside hitter's transfer to the strong Polish league a month ago. Asparuhov, who played for the Russian Kuzbass Kemerovo last season, is among the new additions to Slepsk Malow Suwalki for the 2025/2026 season in the PlusLiga.
This will be Asparuhov's second stint in Poland, after being part of the SKS Morze Szczecin team during the 2018/2019 season. Now he returns to the country stronger and more experienced, ready to leave an even brighter mark.
The club officially announced its squad at a special press conference, where the goals for the new season were outlined and an assessment of the 10th place in 2024/2025 was made.
Among the other new names in coach Dominik Kwapiszewicz's squad are American middle blocker David Smith (ZAKSA), Jan Nowakowski (Lublin), and French outside hitter Joachim Panou.
Asparuhov will compete for a starting spot with Antoni Kwasigroch, Henrique Honorato, and newcomer Panou. Expectations for him are high, especially given his strong performances in Russia and with the Bulgarian national team.
