Konstantinov described the match that qualified them for the final as the best for Lokomotiv this season

"Lokomotiv" coach Plamen Konstantinov commented on the 3:1 victory over "Zenit-Kazan" in the Russian Cup semi-final. He told the "BO Sport" website that there were no unnecessary emotions in the locker room, as energy needed to be saved for the final. Konstantinov described the match as the best for "Lokomotiv" this season, highlighting good reception and serving, as well as successful reading of the opponent's game. According to him, "Zenit-Kazan" did not expect such resistance.

He noted that this was the second consecutive elimination of the Kazan team in a cup semi-final, which shows that the success was not accidental. Konstantinov praised his team for their spirited play. He emphasized collective play as key to the victory against a strong team like Kazan.

The coach commented on Rajab's performance and the role of setter Kobzar, as well as the exceptional importance of aggressive serving against top teams. He defended a player who did not perform at his usual level in this match, stating that one match is not indicative of overall performance. Konstantinov believes that the lack of hegemony in Russian volleyball is positive for the sport. He did not reveal the "secret" to success, but emphasized that the mentally better prepared teams win, especially when they are not favorites.

"Lokomotiv" repeated its success from 2022, again eliminating "Zenit-Kazan" in a semi-final in their home "Final Six".
