Mikaela Stoyanova takes the big step – from Levski Sofia to the Italian Serie A1! 💙✈️🇮🇹
The Bulgarian opposite hitter and one of the brightest young stars of the local scene, Mikaela Stoyanova, will continue her career in the elite Italian clubMegabox Vallefoglia! This was announced by the official website of Levski. About the upcoming transfer to Italyvolleyweek.bginformed at the end of April! The Italian staff includes another compatriot of Mika – the physiotherapist Georgi Bivolarski, part of the new team of coach Andrea Pistola.

At just 19 years old, the "Levski Sofia" player is fulfilling her dream – to play in one of the strongest championships in the world.
Stoyanova was an emblematic figure for the newly formed women's team of "Levski", with which she started from the very restoration of the team. For three seasons she showed impressive growth – after the bronze in 2024, in the current campaign the club reached the final for the title and won silver medals, losing only to the hegemon "Maritsa".
🔹 In Levski's European matches in the CEV Challenge Cup, Mikaela shone again – fifth place among the scorers with 119 points in just 6 matches. This also earned her a call-up to the Bulgarian women's national team – a deserved recognition for her hard work and talent.
"If I don't try now, I won't know if I'm ready. It's time to face the new challenge," Mikaela shared upon signing with the Italian club.

Interestingly, before the start of the season, she was part of a training camp at Megabox, as part of the partnership between the two clubs – something that is now culminating in a transfer.
🏐 Mikaela is the daughter of Vasil Stoyanov – a former volleyball player who won the title in Italy with "Trentino" alongside the legend Vladimir Nikolov. It was her father who guided her to volleyball. She started at the "Slavia" academy, and for 5 years Levski has been her second home.
🔹 "I am parting with Levski only with positive feelings. This is my family. Thanks to every coach who built me. I dream of playing in Italy – and why not, one day surpass my father," Mika says with a smile.
💬 The president of "Levski Sofia" Vladimir Nikolov and head coach Radoslav Arsov expressed pride in her journey and confidence that this is only the beginning of her international career.
💬 Sports director Alessio Simone does not hide his enthusiasm for the arrival of the young Bulgarian: "I have been following Mikaela for a year. Thanks to the cooperation with Levski Sofia, we welcomed her for training in Italy and she convinced everyone. She is physically and technically gifted, but there is still room for development. We believe that she can become a key player for our rotations as early as next season."
The collaboration between Megabox and Levski Sofia, which began last summer, is a strategic project aimed at the future. Four young Bulgarian athletes, including Mikaela, participated in training sessions in Vallefoglia, followed by a mini-tournament with Megabox and Omag MT S. Giovanni in Marignano. This summer, new athletes from Levski will train in Pesaro under the guidance of coach Andrea Pistola, strengthening a partnership that promises to bear fruit for both sides.
