Some of the biggest names in Bulgarian volleyball from the last two decades will once again be together on the court. Stars from different generations of the national team will participate in Teodor Salparov's testimonial match "One Career - One Legend", which will take place on September 5th at 4:30 PM in "Arena 8888" in Sofia.
Among the participants will be volleyball players with whom Salparov shared the locker room since the beginning of his career in the national team. The most experienced among them is former captain Nikolay Ivanov, who was part of our representative team in 2003, when the libero took his first steps with the national jersey.
There will be a strong presence of the generation that brought Bulgaria bronze medals from the 2006 World Championship and the 2007 World Cup. Vladimir Nikolov, Todor Aleksiev, Andrey Zhekov, Boyan Yordanov, and Krasimir Gaydarski will play in front of the public once again.
A number of heroes from the Olympic tournament in London in 2012, where Bulgaria reached fourth place, will also gather on the court. Among them are Viktor Yosifov, Valentin Bratoev, Georgi Bratoev, Tsvetan Sokolov, Todor Skrimov, and Teodor Todorov.
Danail Milushev, Svetoslav Gotsev, and Georgi Seganov also join the team of Bulgarian stars. Thus, the testimonial will bring together players from several different periods in the national team, during which Salparov established himself as one of the emblematic figures of Bulgarian volleyball.
The testimonial match "One Career - One Legend" will be broadcast live on bTV. The event is just days before the start of the Men's European Championship, for which Sofia is among the host cities.
Tickets are already on sale throughKupibileti.bgand Eventim, with organizers also releasing VIP passes for sale. Proceeds from these will be donated to the "Sunny Children" charitable foundation, whose cause is the construction of a home for children with special needs.
The VIP package includes seats in close proximity to the court, a special limited edition wine created for Salparov's testimonial, as well as access to the official afterparty at Ozone Skybar at Millennium Hotel, where participants in the match, guests, and friends of Bulgaria's long-serving libero will be present.
