In an epic five-set thriller at "Eurosuole Forum", Itas Trentino prevailed 3:2 (21-25, 28-26, 25-17, 20-25, 15-9) and closed the series with 3-1 wins. Thus, the champions from the Dolomites triumphed with their sixth title in their history - and again under the guidance of a coach who is already a "freelancer", as was the case with Lorenzzetti's victory two years ago.

Nikolov showed class and stability in attack, being the top scorer for his team and adding a silver medal from the Italian championship to his collection of awards. This season, the team has already won the Italian Cup and played in the Challenge Cup final - all successes achieved with a young squad and new faces.
