As we first announced: Dolgopolov signed with Neftochimik

Volleyball club Neftochimic 2010 continues its impressive selection for the new 2025/2026 season, announcing the signing of a seventh new addition. As firstvolleyweek.bgannounced, Ukrainian setter Dmytro Dolgopolov, who became vice-champion of the country last season with Lokomotiv Avia (Plovdiv), joins the six-time Bulgarian champions.

Born on September 14, 1993, Dolgopolov comes to Burgas with an extremely rich resume. Besides the silver medal from Bulgaria, the 193-centimeter setter has won championship titles in three other countries. He has five gold medals from his home country Ukraine, won with Lokomotiv (Kharkiv region) in the period 2010-2014. In 2016, he triumphed in Estonia with Selver (Tallinn), and in 2023 he became champion of Croatia with Mladost (Zagreb).

At the national level, Dolgopolov also has serious successes. With the Ukrainian team, he won the European Golden League in the past 2024, and was runner-up in the same tournament in 2023. At club level, he also reached the semi-finals of the prestigious European CEV Cup with Lokomotiv (Kharkiv region) in 2013.

His career has passed through numerous clubs in different countries, starting from Lutsk in Ukraine, through Kazakhstan (Kazhrom), Finland (Loimaa), Estonia (Selver), Italy (Massa), Poland (Radom), Czech Republic (twice in Příbram and once in Beskydy), Croatia (Mladost) and Cyprus (Pafos), before landing in Lokomotiv Avia (Plovdiv) last year.

The acquisition of Dolgopolov is another step in Neftochimic 2010's ambitious selection process. Before him, the Burgas club had already secured the services of:

  • Adi Osmanović (opposite, Bosnia and Herzegovina)

  • Kaloyan Balabanov (outside hitter)

  • Dimitar Vasilev (outside hitter)

  • Ricardo (outside hitter, Brazil)

  • Martin Krastev (middle blocker)

  • Simeon Dobrev (libero)

The club also confirmed that middle blocker Ventsislav Ragin, libero Yasen Petrov, opposite Stoyan Dimitrov, and experienced setter Georgi Bratoev will remain from last season's squad. The presence of Bratoev and Dolgopolov in the squad promises serious competition for the starting position of the key setter role in the new season.

Dmytro Dolgopolov's transfer is further proof of Neftochimic 2010's serious ambitions to attack the top of the Bulgarian volleyball championship in the 2025/2026 season.
