The Bulgarian women's national team dropped three positions in the FIVB world ranking after losing to Greece 1:3 (20:25, 25:21, 18:25, 23:25) in their second match at EuroVolley 2026.
The defeat cost the "Lionesses" 7.85 ranking points. Before the match, Bulgaria had 148.92 points, and after it, Marcello Abbondanza's team's total decreased to 141.08 points.
Thus, Bulgaria dropped three places and now occupies the 30th position in the world. Immediately ahead of the national team is Romania, which is #29 with 142.39 points, while Hungary is #28 with 147.51, and the Republic of Korea is #27 with 149.14 points.
Greece moved in the opposite direction. The victory over Bulgaria moved the "Hellenes" up three positions to 26th place with 150.70 points.
Just two days earlier, Bulgaria climbed four positions after a 3:0 victory over Ukraine at the start of the European Championship. Thus, after their first two matches in Brno, the national team is only one position higher than where they started EuroVolley 2026.
