Bulgarian outside hitter Georgi Tatarov ended the season in Italy with a strong performance for Grottazzolina, even though his team lost to Modena 0:3 (23:25, 20:25, 17:25) in their last match of the campaign.Tatarov scored 5 points and was stable in attack against one of the most elite teams in the SuperLega.Thus, the Bulgarian solidified his good performance during the season, in which Grottazzolina achieved its big goal – staying in the elite. 👏

After the loss, Grottazzolina's season ended, while Valsa Group Modena, led by coach Alberto Giuliani, secured first place in the group for the 5th-8th place playoffs. Modena will have home advantage in the semi-final, which will take place on May 3rd in the legendary "PalaPanini" arena.
🔵 The Yellows started with a starting lineup of: De Cecco – Buchegger on the diagonal, Gutierrez and Davyskiba as outside hitters, Mati and Anzani in the middle, with Federici as libero.
🔵 Grottazzolina responded with Zhukouski as setter, diagonal Zwaneviger, outside hitters Antonov and Tatarov, Matei and Comperoni in the middle, with Marchisio as libero.
The match started evenly, but Modena took the first set 25:23. In the second part, Gutierrez and Ikbayri led the team to a 16:12 lead, and Modena eventually closed this set 25:20. In the third part, the hosts built a comfortable lead and finished the match at 25:17.
The most effective players for the winners were Gutierrez with 14 points and Davyskiba with 13. For Grottazzolina, the German diagonal Zwaneviger scored 15 points.
