Asvolleyweek.bgannounced at the beginning of the month, Koko Balabanov will strengthen the Neftohimik team. The club officially presented the new addition, writing: "VC Neftohimik 2010 is pleased to announce the return to the team of the 2023 champion with our kit, Kaloyan Balabanov!"
The 26-year-old receiver is back at the club, which can be called his second home, after one season in Montana.
With the team from Northwestern Bulgaria, Koko played in the final for the Bulgarian Cup in "Arena Burgas" this year.
The 195-centimeter ace also has a Czech title – with Jihostroj (České Budějovice), for the past 2024.
He started his career at Cherno More (Varna), whose jersey he wore between 2016 and 2020, and in the 2020/2021 season he was at Marek Union Ivkoni.
From 2021 to 2023, he was at VC Neftohimik 2010, having a major contribution to the triumph in the championship's final playoffs against Hebar in the spring of 2023.
