The U16 national volleyball team achieved a complete comeback against Latvia!

The Bulgarian national team for boys under 16 years recorded a second victory in the European qualification, which we are hosting in Sofia. The proteges of coach Svetozar Ivanov showed exceptional character and reached a dramatic success over Latvia with 3:2 (20:25, 20:25, 25:17, 25:16, 15:6), after trailing 0:2 sets.

Despite a difficult start in which the Latvians dominated the first two sets, the young "lion cubs" did not give up. With the support of the crowd in 'Hristo Botev' hall, they managed to impose their will in the third and fourth sets, equalizing the score. In the decisive tie-break, the Bulgarian nationals were complete hegemons and convincingly closed the match in their favor with 15:6.

The top scorer for Bulgaria was Mihail Mihaylov with 22 points, including an impressive 4 blocks. Milko Bagdasarov added 12 points (1 ace).

With this important victory, Bulgaria continues its participation in the qualification. Tomorrow, April 27, at 6:00 PM, the home national team will face Finland in a key match from Group A.
