The President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, Lyubomir Ganev, reviewed the past season in the domestic volleyball championships and shared important news regarding the national teams in different age groups. He did this during a show on Darik Radio today.
Ganev positively assessed the level of efbet Super Volley for men, emphasizing the growth and increasing competition, which makes the championship attractive to fans. For women, he noted the continued dominance of Maritsa Plovdiv, but with visible improvement in the performances of Levski and CSKA.
It was announced that Bulgaria will have a total of 8 main national teams, plus two more that are preparing for upcoming international appearances. Emphasis was placed on the participation of six national squads in World Championships this year, as well as the upcoming European Championship qualifiers for the U16 and U21 teams.
Lyubomir Ganev revealed the surprising news that Bulgaria will once again have"A" and "B" men's national teams. The men's team camp starts this Sunday with the players who are in Bulgaria, and more detailed information about the structure of the two squads will be announced at a Board meeting on Tuesday. It was also stated thatSamokov will establish itself as a new training centerfor the men's national teams - the "A" team, as well as the U19 and U21 squads.
In the context of international participation, the president emphasized the importance of consistency and achieving good results in every match and game to climb the world rankings, especially given the format of the World Championships with 32 teams.
For the upcoming Nations League matches, Ganev confirmed that Bulgaria will host in Burgas and appealed to fans to hurry with buying tickets, given the interest in the matches against strong teams like Olympic champion France. He highlighted the good cooperation with Burgas Municipality for the development of volleyball in the city.
The main long-term goals for the men's team, led by Gianlorenzo Blengini, and the women's team, led by Tony Zetova, remainqualification for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Ganev expressed confidence in this year's successes and wished health to the athletes, emphasizing the federation's efforts to provide excellent training conditions, includinga men's camp in Japan and control matches with the USA before the World Championship.
It was noted that the women's national team has already begun its preparation in Sofia with clear goals for a good performance in the Nations League and an ascent in the rankings. Coach Tony Zetova's strategy is convincing to the leadership. At the end of the interview, Ganev also mentioned a meeting with the Minister of Tourism to promote Bulgaria through sports competitions.
