SVG Lüneburg delivered the big surprise of the season, eliminating VfB Friedrichshafen after an epic five-match semi-final. In the last clash, the team from Lüneburg showed character and resilience to secure a historic participation in the final against Berlin.

In the last 11 seasons, excluding the pandemic-affected 2019/20, the battle for the title has invariably been between Berlin and Friedrichshafen. Only once during this period did VfB Friedrichshafen become champion – in 2014, while Berlin Recycling Volleys lifted the trophy a total of 10 times.
🏆The Final: SVG Lüneburg vs. Berlin Recycling Volleys
The Berliners reached the final phase effortlessly after 3:0 victories over Helios GRIZZLYS Giesen (Radoslav Parapunov briefly played there), while SVG Lüneburg fought to the last serve against Friedrichshafen. An exciting series is shaping up, in which Berlin will defend its title, and Lüneburg will chase its first historic crown.
Unfortunately, at this historic moment, there is no Bulgarian participation among the finalists, but the event is too significant to be overlooked.

The German team is not unknown to the Bulgarian public. In the group stage of the Champions LeagueLüneburg was in the same group as Levski-Sofia. The first match was played inLevski's hall, where the "blues" lost 1:3, and in the return leg in Germany, they lost 0:3. SVG Lüneburg completely surprised the volleyball world whenthey defeated Berlin Recycling Volleys in the Champions League playoffsaftera "golden set". This wasn't just another victory – Lüneburg ushered in a new era by overcoming the best German team and qualifying for thequarter-finals, where they will face Polish team Warta Zawiercie.
