Maritsa added a 191-centimeter Serb to its selection

Maritsa (Plovdiv) announced today the signing of Serbian volleyball player Ana Pejicic for the 2026/2027 season. The 25-year-old player, who is 191 cm tall and can play both as an outside hitter and an opposite hitter, is the latest new addition to the Bulgarian champion's squad. Pejicic arrives after a season with Turkish club Eregli Belediyespor (Konya), and has significant international experience in Serbia, Switzerland, Greece, and Turkey. She has also played for Vizura (Belgrade), Volero (Zurich), AO Lamia 2013 (Lamia), and ALS Halk Volleyball (Bolu), has participated in European club tournaments, and has experience with the Serbian national teams. At Maritsa, Pejicic will wear jersey number 4.
The Serbian player is among the new faces with whom Maritsa will attack next season. The champions have also signed experienced Bulgarian outside hitter Elena Becheva, who played for AEK Larnaca in Cyprus last season. Five talents from the club's academy are also moving up to the first team – middle blocker Tsvetomira Velcheva, setter Vyara Ivanova, outside hitters Siyana Genduzova and Katerina Popova, and libero Maria-Magdalena Nedyalkova. All of them already have experience in women's volleyball with Maritsa 2022, as well as participations with the Bulgarian national youth teams.
Maritsa also retains a significant part of its squad from last season. Setter Margarita Guncheva, middle blockers Kaya Nikolova, Boryana Angelova, and Tsvetelina Petrova, outside hitters Alexandra Kitipova and Diyana Borisova, as well as young Elisaveta Sarieva, will continue in Plovdiv. Thus, at the moment, the champions are building a squad in which the experience of the newly signed Pejicic and Becheva is combined with the retained core and another group of talents produced by the club's academy.
