The Turkish giant published a short message confirming the end of relations with the Italian specialist:
"As part of the construction of our Fenerbahçe Medicana women's volleyball team for the new season, we have parted ways with head coach Marcello Abbondanza. We present this information to the public," reads Fenerbahçe's official statement.

The reactions of Fenerbahçe fans on social media after the split with Abbondanza are mostly extremely negative towards the Italian, with the most common messages being "Finally!", "We got rid of him", "Today is a holiday" and "He should have resigned himself."

Thus, within just a few hours, we received two official confirmations that are starting to arrange the coaching puzzle.
First, Milano released Stefano Lavarini, and now Fenerbahçe has vacated the position which, according to information from Italy and Turkey, is to be filled by him.
Therefore, the next step remains to be made official – Lavarini's return to Fenerbahçe.
In parallel, another important announcement is expected – Gianlorenzo Blengini to be announced as the new head coach of E-Work Vero Volley Milano.
Thus, the coaching domino, which has been talked about in recent days, has now officially started to fall into place:
Lavarini left Milano → Fenerbahçe parted ways with Abbondanza → Lavarini is expected to take over Fenerbahçe → Blengini to fill the vacant position in Milano.
The interesting thing from a Bulgarian perspective is that two of the key figures in this reshuffle are the current national coaches of Bulgaria – Marcello Abbondanza for the women's team and Gianlorenzo Blengini for the men's team.
The first two official announcements are already a fact. Now all eyes are on Fenerbahçe for Lavarini and Milano for Blengini.
