VC Cherno More issued a statement after the decision for the men's team from Varna not to participate in the Super League. The club directly criticized Varna Municipality and seriously raised the issue of the conditions under which the volleyball players are forced to train.
Cherno More (Varna) will not have a men's team in the Bulgarian volleyball elite next season, and the club has already made it clear what led to the difficult decision.
In a statement published on social media, the Varna team directed serious criticism towards Varna Municipality, stating that over the years the local authorities have not found the right way to support the volleyball club.
"The decision was not easy at all, and it is very sad that the president of VC Cherno More refused our men's team's participation in the Super League. Reasons that are very clear to most of you," Cherno More wrote.
The club emphasized that for more than 30 years its president, Krasimir Iliev, has provided financial support. Despite the men's team's withdrawal from the elite, he will continue to support the other age groups.
After that, Cherno More also sent its most serious message to Varna Municipality.

"Over time, unlike other large and small cities, Varna Municipality did not find the exact and correct way to support the club, as it did for other sports," the club stated.
The next part of the statement, which concerns the training conditions for the volleyball players, sounds particularly harsh.
"Not to mention the conditions under which the athletes had to and still have to train. When there is no understanding and help, patience runs out and it comes to this end."
Cherno More's words show accumulated dissatisfaction over the years due to the lack of sufficient cooperation and the conditions under which the club has to operate.
The statement is particularly categorical also because of the comparison with Varna Municipality's attitude towards other sports. Cherno More openly states that, in their opinion, the volleyball club has not received the necessary support.
At the same time, the president of Cherno More will not stop funding the club and will continue to help the other age groups.
This raises an even more serious question – how did it come to pass that a club with over 30 years of financial support from its president would withdraw its representative men's team from the Bulgarian elite?
The answer, which shines through Cherno More's public statement, is eloquent enough – lack of understanding and help, dissatisfaction with Varna Municipality's attitude, and serious questions about training conditions.
Despite everything, in Varna, they leave the door open for a future return.
"We strongly hope that things will change someday and VC Cherno More – men, will find its place in the elite of Bulgaria," the club's statement concludes.
