Verona's Bulgarian conditioning coach left in a scandalous manner

Verona Volley announced that it has terminated its working relationship with Tsvetelin Ivanov, first team conditioning coach, according to a press release published on the team's website, where Radostin Stoychev was coach.

Although the team is still participating in the play-off phase for fifth place, which grants participation in Europe, and Ivanov was regularly working on the physical and technical preparation for the matches, on Sunday he requested an early termination of the contract that linked him to the club until the end of the season. He took this step to be able to immediately move to another club. Although the club considers the request to be obviously inappropriate and harmful at this point in the season, it respected it and complied with his wish, the statement said. Ivanov will likely join Halkbank, where Stoychev is already the coach.

Before becoming responsible for the conditioning of elite athletes, Ivanov was a basketball player. He played for Slavia, Levski, Chernomorets, Balkan, most recently in 2011. The forward was also part of several national youth teams. Since 2020, he has been with Verona.
