Italy's Rana Verona has secured the long-term future of one of its biggest stars. Slovenian international Rok Možič has extended his contract with the club until 2029, and will continue to be one of the faces of Verona's ambitious project.
Možič arrived at the club at just 19 years old, with the establishment of the new company Verona Volley. Already in his debut season in the Italian SuperLega, he established himself as one of the most prolific players in the championship and earned the award for best scorer. In the following years, the Slovenian outside hitter became a key leader of the team, impressing with his consistency, winning mentality, and ability to lead his teammates in the most crucial moments.
Today, Možič is among the strongest outside hitters in the SuperLega and one of Verona's symbols.
"Verona has become my home. I arrived here as a boy and was given the opportunity to grow both as a volleyball player and as a person. The decision to renew my contract until 2029 comes from the heart. I want to continue fighting for this jersey, bringing joy to our fans, and together with the club, write more important pages of our history," Rok Možič stated on the club's website.
The club's sports director Adi Lami also did not hide his satisfaction with the new agreement.
"There are players who leave their mark with their performance on the court, and others who become a symbol of a project. Rok is both. It is a great pride for us that he will stay with the club until 2029. This is a continuation of a story built with trust, hard work, and a sense of belonging. We welcomed him as a young talent, and today he is one of Verona's leaders and main benchmarks. We are glad that he chose to pursue new challenges with us, because we believe that the best moments are yet to come," commented Lami.
Already in the first round of the new season, Možič will have the opportunity to compete against Bulgarian internationals Aleksandar and Simeon Nikolov, as Rana Verona hosts Cucine Lube Civitanova on October 18 (Sunday) in the opening match for both teams in the Italian SuperLega.
With the extension of the Slovenian international's contract, Verona sends a clear signal of its ambitions to retain the core of the team and continue to fight for top positions in the Italian SuperLega in the coming seasons.
