Former national coach and current Verona coach Radostin Stoychev is looking for new recruits from Long Beach University, a volleyweek.bg photojournalist noticed. Stoychev met with assistant coach of the state university team Nick MacRae during Bulgaria's match with Austria. It is not excluded that MacRae is also on the hunt for talent, judging by his Instagram post. The rendezvous was mediated by Luke Reynolds, an Australian volleyball coach who currently leads Pepperdine University. We remind you that several national players of Bulgaria have passed through the team from California, with Simeon Nikolov being the latest expected there for next season. Observant volleyball fans have also noticed Rajko Jokanovic in the hall, whose son Andrey plays as an outside hitter in the French team. Jokanovic is a bronze medalist with the Yugoslavia team from the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and a gold medalist from the 2001 European Championship. The Serb is also a representative of the famous volleyball agency LZ SPORT PRO, whose client was Todor Skrimov.
