The Bulgarian national team for U18 juniors achieved their third victory at the European Championship for this age group, held in Sofia and Plovdiv. The team led by Desislava Velichkova defeated Austria with a score of 3:0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-23). There was only intrigue in the third game when our opponents took advantage of our relaxation and kept the tension until the end. In the middle of the second game, the hall erupted in applause after the speaker announced that Tony Zetova's girls had qualified for the final.
Desislava Velichkova opted for the same starting lineup as in the first two matches, but during the game, she gave a chance to most of her players. Jasmin Velichkov was the top scorer with 16 points (2 blocks), Petio Ivanov added 9 points (1 block). Deyan Marinov (1 ace, 1 block) and Kristian Ivanov (2 blocks) finished with 8 points each. For the opponent, Daniel Ratz scored 8 points (1 block).
Tomorrow (July 13), our team rests, and on July 14 (Sunday), they will play against Finland, again at 5:30 PM.
