The President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC), Stefka Kostadinova, published an official statement emphasizing that several complaints from BOC members are currently challenging the legitimacy of the General Assembly held on March 19, 2025, and the registration of its decisions.

🗣 "It is obvious that a legal issue has arisen. As President of the BOC and a person who abides by the laws of the country, I am obliged to act in accordance with the decision of the Bulgarian court. I cannot ignore the opinion of a large part of the members of the General Assembly until the competent authorities rule on the submitted complaints. Therefore, I see no benefit in unnecessary tension and appeals.

🔹 The activity of the BOC continues to be carried out in full volume and in the best possible way for the committee and for Bulgarian sport.
🔹 I hope for quick clarity regarding the legitimacy of the General Election Assembly and its decisions.
🔹 The IOC has been fully informed about the situation, and my team is in constant contact with the headquarters.
🔹 I am ready to immediately comply with the decision of the Bulgarian court."

📌 Why does Stefka Kostadinova continue to perform her duties as President of the BOC?

🔸 In the Register of Non-Profit Legal Entities, she is still listed as president, as there is no court decision that has entered into force to remove her from the post.
🔸 The challenge to the decisions of the General Assembly is being heard by the Sofia City Court, where claims have been filed, and until a final court decision, the registered president has the right to represent the BOC.(This is an identical situation, one-to-one, as in the BFV, where VC "Slavia" challenges the decisions of the Reporting and Election Assembly with a lawsuit. ed. note)
