The Turkish grandee from Istanbul will have as many as three Bulgarian volleyball players in the new season
The official Instagram page of volleyball's "Fenerbahçe" presented its men's and women's teams for the new season. As we fromvolleyweek.bgwere the first to write much earlier, the versatile attacker Denis Karyagin is already part of the men's Istanbul team. Last season, Karyagin wore the jerseys of French Spacer's (Toulouse) and Russian Lokomotiv (Novosibirsk) under the leadership of former national coach Plamen Konstantinov. For one season each, the 204-cm tall volleyball player was in the ranks of Italian Monza and Polish Zaksa (Kędzierzyn-Koźle).
In the women's team of "Fenerbahçe" in the new season, we will see our long-time former national players: middle blocker Hristina Vuchkova, as well as Aleksandar Atanasijević's wife - receiver Elitsa Vasileva-Atanasijević.
Last season, the 32-year-old Vuchkova was part of the American Omaha Supernovas, with whom she lifted the trophy in the newly formed Professional League. This will be the seventh season for the Bulgarian athlete in our southern neighbor. She has also played for the teams of Nilüfer Belediyespor, Galatasaray (Istanbul), THY, and PTT Spor.
Elitsa Vasileva-Atanasijević will play in Turkey for the second time - after 2014/2015, when she was part of VakıfBank (Istanbul), with whom she won the regular season and finished with bronze in the Champions League. Before coming back to Turkey, Elitsa played for Russian Dinamo (Moscow), with whom she finished with bronze in the Super League.
Nikolay Penchev also briefly passed through the Turkish grandee, experts recall.
We wish success to all our representatives by the Bosphorus!
