The CSUN (No. 8) volleyball team dramatically lost 2-3 (25:23, 21:25, 20:25, 31:29, 15:11)🏐 to UC Santa Barbara (No. 18) in a Big West match played at the Premier America Credit Union Arena. The "Matadors" recorded their third consecutive five-set loss, leaving them at 15-6 (0-3) in the conference, while the "Gauchos" improved their record to 10-10 (1-2).
🔥 Lorenzo Bertozzi was the top scorer for CSUN with 16 points, hitting 41% in attack, adding five digs, four blocks ✋, and one ace.
In the third set, CSUN took control after an ace ⚡ by Stilyan Delibosov, which gave them a 12-7 lead. Later, the Bulgarian added a solo block 💪 for 14-10, and the "Matadors" maintained their lead to 25-20.
Everything could have been decided in the fourth set when CSUN led 18-15, but the "Gauchos" tied it at 19-19 and managed to save two match points 🛑 to win the set 31-29.
In the tie-break, UCSB took a 6-3 lead, and CSUN came close at 12-11 after an ace 🎯 by Constable, but the visitors took the last three points for a final 15-11.
