Blengini's assistant took on a new challenge

The assistant coach of the Bulgarian men's national team, Francesco Cadeddu, will continue his career as head coach of the Azerbaijani Murov Az Terminal. The news was officially announced by the club, which presented the Italian specialist as the coach of its men's team for the 2026/2027 season.

In its announcement, Murov Az Terminal highlights Cadeddu's rich international experience, as well as his work with the national teams of Slovenia and Bulgaria. The Azerbaijani club recalls that he was part of the Bulgarian staff that won bronze medals at the U21 Men's World Championship in 2023 and silver medals at the Men's World Championship in 2025. His successes in club volleyball are also mentioned, including a bronze medal from the Club World Championship and the Bulgarian Cup won in 2024.
Cadeddu has significant international experience, having been part of the coaching staffs of Italian clubs Cuneo, Lube, and Perugia, as well as Polish Resovia and Russian Fakel Novy Urengoy over the years. As head coach, he worked for Bulgarian clubs Deya Volley and Neftochimic 2010, and since 2025 he has been an assistant to Gianlorenzo Blengini in the Bulgarian national team.
His new club, Murov Az Terminal, is among the ambitious projects in Azerbaijani volleyball. Founded in 2019, the team has already established itself among the leaders in the local championship and aims to compete for top positions and participation in European club tournaments.
With the appointment of Francesco Cadeddu, the management of Murov Az Terminal clearly demonstrates its intention to attract a specialist with experience at the highest international level and to build a competitive team for the new season.
