A bitter European disappointment for Cucine Lube Civitanova, who won 3:2 (27-25, 25-21, 36-38, 20-25, 15-7) at the Eurosuole Forum in the Challenge Cup final second leg, but failed to overturn the result from the first match and had to settle for silver medals on the continent, as Bogdanka LUK Lublin celebrated their ascent to the European summit. Medei's team's comeback attempt failed due to their inability to convert one of the 5 match points in the third set, and after a fourth set dominated by Leon's serve, the most prolific player in the match with 25 points, 8 of which were aces. This was a historic success for Bogdanka LUK Lublin, who, after an incredible volleyball show, deservedly won the Challenge Cup for 2025. The MVP of the match was Mattia Bottolo from Cucine Lube Civitanova, whose efforts could not prevent the Polish team's victory.

Just a few days after playing one of their best matches of the year in the Serie A playoffs in Milan, Cucine Lube Civitanova repeated this for two sets at the Eurosuole Forum in the second leg of the Volleyball Challenge Cup final against Bogdanka LUK Lublin, but narrowly lost the third set and paid the price for a reception collapse in the next. Thus, the cup went to their opponents, also due to the 1:3 loss in the first match at Hala Globus in Lublin. A night of celebrations, with over 3000 frenzied fans, turned into a cold shower with many regrets for the missed fourth set in Poland, but Lube left the court to the applause of the half-empty hall, as fans began to leave after the end of the fourth set.
