39-year-old Serbian volleyball player Maja Ognjenović, who will turn 40 next month, has been chosen to be her country's flag bearer during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris, according tovolleyball.it, as well as the official Facebook page of Maja's club team - Savino Del Bene Scandicci.

We remind you that Ognjenović will participate in a record fifth Olympics, having debuted in Beijing in 2008 at the age of 23. The radiant legendary Serbian setter has a fifth place from the Chinese capital, 11th from London 2012, a silver medal from Rio 2016 and a bronze from Tokyo 2020, held in 2021.

The other flag bearer for Serbia will be water polo player Dušan Mandić.
