Petar Kanev: "The Women's Volleyball League is on the rise!"
Petar Kanev, owner of the general sponsor of the National Volleyball Demax+ League, shared his positive assessment of the development of the women's volleyball championship in Bulgaria with the Bulgarian National Television (BNT). According to him, this season has been extremely successful for the league and Bulgarian volleyball as a whole.
"A good season has passed. It's no coincidence that at the last awards for Athlete, Team, and Coach of the Year, our girls' team swept the awards. I go back four years, when with the general secretary of our federation Stanislav Nikolov, we sent letters to all teams, and only three teams applied to participate in the championship. Four years ago, we were on the verge of being without a women's championship. Then we made some commitments, found funding. The next year there were six teams, then eight. This year we have ten teams, and for next year we have talks with Pernik and Vidin – 12 teams. The truth is that this generation, which became European champions, all play in the lineups of our volleyball league. We are very satisfied. Funding is secured for the league, many interesting playoff matches await us."
His words highlight the significant progress of the women's volleyball championship in the country, which, thanks to efforts to find funding and expand participating teams, is on the rise. In recent years, the league has grown, and interest in it continues to increase. This gives serious hope for even more successful seasons and many exciting matches during the playoffs.
