One of Bulgaria's main rivals in Group B of the 2026 European Championship in Sofia – Poland – announced its last warm-up match before the start of the championship. "The Polish team" will face Finland on September 5th at 8:30 PM local time in Gdansk.
The Polish Federation announced that this will be the final test for Nikola Grbic's squad before the start of EuroVolley 2026. The match will take place in the city that will be one of the hosts of the Men's World Championship in 2027.

The opponent is also a formidable one. Finland defended its title in the European Golden League after winning the final clash against the Netherlands and, by sporting merit, met the conditions to take Canada's place in the Volleyball Nations League. However, following FIVB's decision to reinstate Russia in international tournaments, the mechanism for determining the new VNL participant has not yet been finally clarified, and there is no official confirmation of Finland's place for now.
Bulgaria and Poland are rivals in Group B of the European Championship, which will be held in Sofia, so the warm-up match against the Finns will likely be one of the last opportunities for the Polish staff to iron out the details before their arrival in the Bulgarian capital.
