Deia lost their home match against Beroe with a score of 2:3 (25:23, 25:17, 16:25, 22:25, 12:15) in the last round of the regular season. In the "Boycho Branzov" hall, the visitors completed a full comeback after trailing 0:2 in sets.
Beroe was without their captain Rusi Zhelev, with Ras Jellancy stepping in to replace him. It was through him that the home team disrupted the visitors' reception. In the first set, Stara Zagora led 17:21, but several attacking errors by Jellancy allowed Deia to equalize. Vasilev finished with a successful attack, and Deia took the lead.
The second set started evenly until 9:9, after which Vasilev, Lamanec, and Bratoev made a run for 21:11, and the set was just a formality.
In the third set, Deia lost Dimitar Vasilev due to injury, which affected their game. Beroe pulled ahead 0:5, and at 5:13 Lamanec was replaced by Tomov, which further worsened the situation for the home team. Velizar Chernokozhev, who came in for the visitors, brought momentum, and Beroe won the set 16:25.
In the fourth set, Stara Zagora maintained a 2-3 point lead, and after a service error by Bratoev, they tied the match at 2:2.
The tie-break started with attacking errors by Deia. After an inaccuracy by Bratoev, Beroe led 8:6. The home team only got within one point but couldn't turn the score around. At 12:14, Cardosa made a service error, and Bentahor scored an ace for Beroe's victory!
🏆 The most effective player for the winners and in the match was Velizar Chernokozhev with 19 points (3 aces, 1 block), followed by Ras Jellancy with 17 (1 ace) and Jasmin Velichkov with 15 (1 ace). For Deia, Valentin Bratoev finished with 14 points, as did Patrick Lamanec, and Donatas Cardozo added 11, but these were not enough for the home team's success.
With the two points earned, Beroe climbed to fourth place with 40 points, overtaking Montana before their match against Neftochimik.
