Italian giant Cucine Lube (Civitanova) officially acquired Serbian national Miran Kujundžić, who will be a teammate of Bulgarian nationals Aleksandar and Simeon Nikolov in the new season. With the acquisition of the 29-year-old outside hitter, the club finalized its selection and formed a squad of 14 volleyball players for the 2026/27 season.
Kujundžić arrives in Civitanova after a season with Polish club Jastrzębski Węgiel, who, as the Polish Cup winner, participated in the country's Super Cup match against champion Bogdanka LUK Lublin. Prior to this, the Serbian national gained significant international experience with PGE Skra Bełchatów, Galatasaray, Ślepsk Suwałki, Paris Volley, and Tourcoing Lille Métropole.
His career began at Spartak (Subotica), and then with Vojvodina, he won three Serbian championship titles and one national Super Cup. Kujundžić is also part of the Serbian national team, with whom he participated in the Volleyball Nations League in 2026.
An interesting detail is that the sports director of Lube is the legendary Serbian middle blocker Marko Podraščanin, who is a former teammate and friend of the new acquisition.
"Negotiations with Lube started only a few days ago. Sports director Marko Podraščanin, my former teammate and friend, contacted me and presented the sports project and the coaching staff's expectations. I thought carefully, but very quickly realized how important this step is for my career. I still cannot fully grasp that I am becoming part of such a prestigious club. I am now in an organization that is a symbol of victories at the highest level worldwide. It will be an honor for me to wear the red-and-white jersey and one day say that I played in the SuperLega for a world-class club," Kujundžić stated after signing his contract.
With the acquisition of the Serbian national, Lube finalized its squad for the 2026/27 season. Remaining from last year's team are Aleksandar Nikolov, Mattia Bottolo, Enrico Lazzaretto, Giovanni Maria Gargiulo, Fabio Balaso, and Francesco Bisotto. The new additions are Simeon Nikolov, Francesco Zoppellari, Maxim Tonkonog, Davide Gardini, Miran Kujundžić, Alberto Polo, Antonin Kliemeš, and Jackson Hau.
