The Italian Volleyball League officially approved the regulations for the 2026/27 season in SuperLega Credem Banca. The most significant change is the introduction of a playout, which will determine the only team to be relegated from the elite division.
For the first time in SuperLega history, the last four teams (or three, if the ninth-placed team finishes with at least an eight-point lead over the last-placed team) will play a playout to remain in the elite division. Participants will start with bonus points according to their ranking after the regular season, and the last-placed team in the final standings will be relegated to Serie A2.
The asymmetrical calendar, where the schedule for the second half of the season is not a mirror image of the first, as well as the format of the title playoffs, remain unchanged. The top eight teams will participate in them, with the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final being played in a best-of-five format (first to three wins).
The regular season begins on October 18, 2026, and concludes on February 28, 2027, while the title playoffs will take place from March 7 to May 11, 2027.
The league also confirmed the schedule for the Italian Cup. The quarterfinals will be played on December 30, 2026, and the Final Four is scheduled for February 6 and 7, 2027.
The participants in the Italian Supercup have also been announced – the champion Sir Susa Vim Perugia, the Cup winner Rana Verona, the league finalist Cucine Lube Civitanova, and the Cup finalist Itas Trentino. The semifinal matchups are Perugia – Trentino and Verona – Lube, with dates on November 14 and 15. The host of the tournament is yet to be announced.
