Trifon Lapkov remains with Lokomotiv Avia for a second consecutive season

Trifon Lapkov will continue to wear the Lokomotiv Avia jersey for the 2026/27 season, the Plovdiv club officially announced. Thus, the 30-year-old volleyball player will play his second consecutive season with the "black and whites".
Lapkov is among the most experienced Bulgarian players, having played both in Bulgaria and abroad during his career. He started his professional journey in Montana, then defended the colors of Dobrudzha 07, Dutch Lycurgus, Levski Sofia, Belgian Menen, Saudi Al Taraji, Neftochimic 2010, Hebar, Beroe 2016, Italian Ortona, Hebar again, and last season was part of Lokomotiv Avia.
An interesting fact is that for most of his career, Lapkov played as an opposite hitter, but in recent seasons he successfully re-qualified as an outside hitter – the position he plays in the Lokomotiv Avia squad.
By attracting him for a second consecutive season, the Plovdiv team retains an important figure in their squad before the start of the new WINBET Super Volley championship, where the team will once again pursue a place among the leading teams in the league.
We remind that so far Lokomotiv Avia has retained in its squad national player Ivaylo Damyanov, middle blocker Alex Nikolov, opposite hitter Zhulien Georgiev, who will play his third consecutive season with the Plovdiv team, and libero Martin Ivanov. Former national setter Dobromir Dimitrov has also joined the "black and whites". Thus, the club is gradually forming the backbone of its squad for the 2026/27 season.
