Champion Voluntari of Mira Todorova predictably qualified for the semifinals of the women's championship in Romania, after a second clean 0:3 victory in their away game against Constanta. Todorova finished with 8 points (1 ace, 2 blocks). Earlier, the team of Alba Blaj and Monika Krusteva also secured a ticket to the final four, after victories over Targoviste.
The remaining two semifinalists will be determined after the third match on March 8th. Rapid București of Lora Kitipova made a complete comeback against city rival Dinamo with Gergana Kyoseva and with a 3:2 victory (21:25, 22:25, 25:22, 25:22, 15:11) forced the series to a third match (Dinamo won the first with 3:1). Kitipova finished with 6 points (1 block), while Gergana Kyoseva scored 18 points (2 blocks), recording 36% in attack and 52% positive reception.
In the other quarterfinal, Brașov tied the series against Lugoj, after an away victory with 1:3. Phenomenal performance by Alex Milanova, who finished as the top scorer with 25 points (2 aces, 4 blocks), 45% in attack, and 67% positive reception. Mirela Shahpazova added 4 points (3 blocks) to the victory.
