Stiliyan Delibosov shines in CSUN's eighth consecutive win, now leads two NCAA rankings

The seventh-ranked CSUN volleyball team extended its winning streak after defeating Sacred Heart 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-17) on Monday at the Premier America Credit Union Arena. This was the eighth consecutive victory for the Matadors, who demonstrated impressive attacking efficiency with a 54.2% kill percentage – their best performance of the season.

Stiliyan Delibosov with a key role for CSUN and at the top of two rankings

Bulgarian middle blocker Stiliyan Delibosov played another strong match, finishing with 11 points- seven points from attack, recording an impressive 77.8% success rate and adding four blocks. He was among the key players for his team and continues to show consistent performances in his debut season.The youth international continues to be first in the NCAA blocking rankings with 1.39 blocks per set.Delibosov has a team-record 61 total blocks in 44 sets this season, including six solo blocks.Furthermore he climbed to second place in the NCAA for attacking efficiency - 51%.Delibosov has 88 kills and only 12 errors on 149 attempts this season.


Best start since 2009

With this win, CSUN now has a 13-2 record, which is the team's best start to the season in the first 15 matches since 2009. The Matadors made only five errors on 59 attack attempts, leading to their highest hitting percentage of the campaign.

Next Challenges

CSUN will face conference leader Long Beach State at home on Wednesday at 6:00 PM in their first Big West conference match. The homestand will conclude on March 12 against Princeton, after which on March 14 the Matadors will visit Long Beach State in a key conference showdown.
