The captain of the "Sbornaya", who became an Olympic champion in London in 2012, shared his opinion on the Games
In an interview with the Russian sports websitechampionat.comthe legendary volleyball player commented on the absence of the Russian national volleyball team at the Olympic Games in Paris.
"I'm not a fan of watching tournaments without Russian volleyball players. I will follow the Olympics, but not closely. Who is the favorite? Honestly, I'm not interested. I don't actively follow world volleyball; I only watch semi-finals and finals of tournaments.
"How will non-participation in the Olympics affect Russia? Definitely nothing for our development. We will survive and develop on our own. This is not a tragedy for Russian volleyball, it cannot be said. We are systematically moving along our path. It is clear that there are not enough international appearances now, but nevertheless, it is not fatal," Tetyukhin adds.
We remind you that, according to the IOC's decision, Russian athletes are not allowed to participate in team sports at the Paris Olympic Games, even with neutral status.
