Lyubomir Ganev was extremely happy with the choice of Antonina Zetova and the U18 Women's National Team as No. 1 for 2024. Our team became European champions last summer. The president of the federation could not attend the ceremony due to a charity dinner at his former team Cuneo.
"I congratulate Toni Zetova and the girls," Ganev commented to the federation's website. "Their success is great. They really made all of Bulgaria happy in the summer with their European title. First and foremost, the recognition is for them, but also for everyone in the federation. I am most glad that we reached this point with the youth categories. When I was elected president of the federation in 2020, I said that working with young people would be our main priority for me and my colleagues from the Management Board. It is clear that we were right.

In 2025, we are facing participation in six World Championships! This is proof of the work done by the club and national coaches for the growth of our young athletes. As a federation, we strive to provide the best possible conditions. The awards from the "Athlete of the Year" ceremony obligate us to achieve even more successes. These can only come with a lot of hard work. Volleyball is Bulgaria's most successful team sport. I believe that every young person who has watched our teams and watched the ceremony will become even more passionate about our game.
