One of the most experienced volleyball players in the Bulgarian national team, Miroslava Paskova, is a serious doubt for the upcoming European Championship, learnedVolleyWeek.bg.
The information was confirmed by the player herself, who will undergo knee surgery after Bulgaria's participation in the Volleyball Nations League. The intervention is expected within hours.
According to information fromVolleyWeek.bgmedical examinations showed serious damage even before the start of the tournament. Despite this, Paskova decided to postpone the surgical intervention to help the national team in the battle to retain its place in the Nations League.
ToVolleyWeek.bgthe national team player confirmed that she has torn menisci, cartilage reconstruction is pending, and in recent days an additional problem has arisen in her knee, the nature of which will only become clear during the operation.

Even before Bulgaria's last match in the VNL, coach Marcello Abbondanza revealed that a player from the team would undergo surgical intervention, and Paskova subsequently confirmed the information toVolleyWeek.bg.
During the tournament, she played with severe pain, and attentive viewers could also notice the additional bandage on her knee in some of the matches. Despite the serious injury, she remained available to the national team until the end of their participation in the tournament.

At this stage, it is unclear how long the recovery of the outside hitter will last, but the upcoming operation casts serious doubt on her participation in the European Championship. A clearer prognosis for her return to the court can be made after the surgical intervention and subsequent medical assessments.
