An unprecedented scene unfolded during a semi-final tournament of the Polish junior championship - the volleyball playerIgor Kozubowskifrom the junior team ofEnerga AZS Olsztynhit a line judge in the face, knocking him to the ground.
The incident happened during the match between Enea Energetyk Poznan and Energa AZS UWM Olsztyn, won by the hosts. Tensions escalated in the second game, when the guests started to catch up, mostly thanks toa series of serves by Jakub Mondry. After the referee called a fault on a serve, Kozubowski - who was on the bench -jumped up and landed a strong blow to the referee's face.
