The fourth-ranked University of Hawaii volleyball team secured a decisive 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-16) victory against Queens (North Carolina). Christian Titriyski was instrumental in the success, being one of the leading scorers for the Rainbow Warriors.
Titriyski finished the match with 13 points, an attack efficiency of 39.1%, and contributed six digs to his team's defense.Together with Adrien Raur, who scored 14 points, the two formed the backbone of Hawaii's offense, collectively achieving 27 of the team's 42 successful attacks.
Setter Tread Rosenthal also played a strong game, finishing with 35 assists, three aces, and eight digs. Middle blocker Kurt Nusterer distinguished himself with five blocks, limiting the Royals' offense to just 12.9% attack efficiency.
In the first set, Hawaii established a strong early rhythm, and Titriyski scored two crucial points in the closing minutes to seal the set. The second set began with the Rainbow Warriors dominating, taking a 10-2 lead after a 7-0 run. Although Queens narrowed the gap towards the end, Titriyski's attack gave Hawaii set point, and an opponent's service error decided the set. In the third set, Titriyski and company completely controlled the proceedings on the court and achieved a convincing victory.
The next challenge for the Rainbow Warriors are two matches in one day – a game against Catawba College and a rematch against Queens.
