Delibosov leads "Matadori" to sixth consecutive victory, surprised Grand Canyon with 3:1

The CSUN team continues its excellent season performance, recording their sixth consecutive victory by defeating #8 Grand Canyon 3:1 (25-23, 25-16, 21-25, 25-22) in a non-conference match. This was the "Matadors'" second success against an AVCA Top 10 team within the last 11 days, with this win bringing CSUN's season record to 11-2.

No less important to CSUN's success was Stiliyan Delibosov.The Bulgarian freshman distinguished himself with 8 points (5 blocks), significantly contributing to the blocking dominance. Delibosov, who remains the NCAA leader in blocks, maintained his top position with an average of 1.405 blocks per set, totaling 52 blocks in 37 sets this season, including six solo plays.His hitting percentage is also impressive, at .544 for the season, and after an exceptional match against Jessup with .615 (10-2-13), he is the Big West leader in this category.

The CSUN team showed excellent collective spirit, managing to limit Grand Canyon to just 32 digs, while the "Matadors" themselves made 32, with the help of libero Chris Carneiro and Joao Avila, who also recorded seven digs each. In addition, the "Matadors" dominated at the block, scoring 12 points in this element, compared to 5 for the opponent. The performance of setter Donovan Constable was also particularly important, as he finished with 37 assists, two aces, five digs, and four blocks, providing an excellent rhythm for his team's attacks.

With this success, CSUN continues its streak of six consecutive home games, with their next match against Cal Lutheran on Friday, February 28.
