Konstantin Ushakov is the main candidate for coach of the Russian women's national volleyball team

According to the latest data, Konstantin Ushakov, the current coach of Zarechie Odintsovo, is the main candidate for the position of coach of the Russian women's national volleyball team, according to the website volleynews.it. Ushakov, who is an established specialist in women's volleyball in Russia, is the leading choice to replace Zoran Terzic, who recently left the post to return to lead the Serbian national team.
At the last meeting of the All-Russian Federation, President Stanislav Shevchenko commented on the parting with Terzic, expressing gratitude for their successful joint work. "Our period of cooperation with him has ended. He received an important offer that he could not refuse. We are grateful to him for everything he did for the national team," Shevchenko said.
Candidates for a new coach will be approved by March 31, 2025, with the selection taking place in a complex context. Russia remains excluded from international volleyball competitions in 2025 due to the ban imposed by FIVB. This creates uncertainty for the future of the Russian national teams, who will have to prepare without official international commitments, but with hope for a future return to the international stage.
Despite these difficulties, the Russian Federation seems determined to continue the development of its national teams and to prepare for a potential resumption of competitions in the future.
