Following the departure of Andrea Anastasi and his assistant Roberto Rotari, Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza quickly secured a new coaching staff for the upcoming season. The club brought in the experienced Ljubomir Travica as head coach, with Matteo Bologna as his assistant.

Travica, born in 1954, has over thirty years of coaching experience. He previously worked in Piacenza exactly twenty years ago, during the 2004/05 season, when with the then Copra, he finished first in the regular season but was eliminated in the playoff semifinals by Perugia.
Last season, Travica made a partial return to the Italian league after 15 years of working in Poland, Qatar, Iran, Croatia, Russia, and Tunisia. He took over Taranto, who were at the bottom of the standings, and managed to save them from relegation, once again demonstrating his coaching acumen and ability to transform teams.
The appointment of Travica and Bologna is a strategic move by Piacenza in their quest to remain competitive and contend for top positions in the Italian SuperLega.
