Although Nikola Grbić's competitive career ended long ago, volleyball fans may soon see his legacy on the court. His son, Matija Grbić, is paving his own way and is already making serious strides in his career.

From Perugia to Penn State

Matija Grbić, born in 2007, is currently finishing high school and competing for the Italian giant "Perugia." However, the talented Serbian volleyball player will continue his development in the USA, where he signed with the prestigious Penn State University - known for its rich history and for developing legendary players such as Olympic medalists Aaron Russell, Matt Anderson, and Max Holt.

His joining Penn State places him in interesting family company - Matija will compete in collegiate volleyball alongside his cousins Una and Ina, who are already making waves in the American system.

Inspired by the Legend

Nikola Grbić is among the most successful figures in world volleyball - both as a player and as a coach. He himself has repeatedly stated that the only trophy he lacks is the World Cup gold. This year he will try to win it with the Polish national team, while his son will build his name on the American stage.

Matija has the chance to leave his mark on world volleyball. Will he follow in his father's footsteps or create his own legend? That remains to be seen.
