Hypo Tirol Innsbruck triumphed with the 2025 Austrian Men's Volleyball Cup, after defeating the reigning champions SK Zadruga Aich/Dob with a decisive 3:0 (25:21, 25:22, 25:16) in the final, played in front of a packed JUFA Arena in Bleiburg. This is the Tyroleans' fourth victory against this opponent this season and proof of their dominance in Austrian volleyball.
Hypo Tirol Innsbruck's squad this season includes a Bulgarian player - Danail Dimov.Born on March 24, 2003, he is a youth product of Cherno More Varna and is among the promising young players of the Austrian champion.
Dominance from the first to the last point
In the final match, the Tyroleans showed a great performance, with Niklas Kronthaler (MVP) shining particularly with 18 points and Kyle Hobus with 14 points. In the first set, Hypo Tirol won 25:21, and in the second, they allowed a slight lapse but still held their lead and closed the set at 25:22. In the third set, Lorenzo Tubertini's team gave no chances to the opponent and won with a convincing 25:16.
Aich/Dob had to cope without their star Carlos Charles Santana, who was injured before the final, and Bryan Camino Martinez was also not fully recovered. Although the hosts put up strong resistance, especially in the second set, Hypo Tirol's experience and class prevailed.
A complete set of trophies
With this success, Hypo Tirol Innsbruck now holds all national titles - Austrian champion, Cup winner, and Supercup winner.
After the final, head coach Lorenzo Tubertini shared:
"I am extremely proud of the team. This title was our goal and the boys fully deserved it. Now we have to defend the other trophies as well."
