Marcelo Mendez remains at the helm of the Argentine national team for the Nations League and the World Championship.
The rumors circulating in recent days have been confirmed - Marcelo Mendez will continue to be the coach of the Argentine national team, as officially announced by the Argentine Volleyball Federation. Mendez will lead the team not only in the Nations League but also in the World Championship, which will be held in the Philippines in 2025.
This decision came after talks in early February about the possibility of him remaining at the helm of the Argentinians, and now the expectations have been officially confirmed. The current coach of the Polish club Jastrz\u0119bski W\u0119giel will have new challenges this year. The main focus for the 2025 season will be on the Nations League, with the ultimate goal being the World Championship, which for the first time will feature 32 teams, divided into 8 groups. The Argentine team is in Group C, where they will face France, Finland, and South Korea.

Mendez, who has led the Argentine national team since 2018, succeeding Julio Velasco, has significant success behind him, including a bronze medal from the Tokyo Olympics and being a two-time South American champion and a runner-up. Although he has signed a contract only for the current season, Mendez will focus on his commitments with the national team.
The only uncertainty surrounding Mendez's career remains his future in club volleyball. A few days ago, it was announced that he had signed a contract with the Italian giant Itas Trentino and will not lead a club in southern Poland next season.
