Manuel Zlatanov and Consar Ravenna secured their participation in the playoffs

After two great sets at the beginning of the match, Consar Ravenna looked on its way to an easy victory, but Abba Pineto did not give up. With a comeback and drama until the last point, the match was decided by two fantastic aces from Copelli in the tie-break! Consar prevailed 3:2 and ended their streak of two consecutive losses, securing their participation in the playoffs.

Two different faces of Ravenna

Consar started impressively, dominating the first two sets with aggressive serving, intensity, and good offense. After that, however, a crisis ensued - Abba changed their tactics, brought Baeso in as an opposite hitter and completely turned the match around. This led to a dramatic tie-break, in which two consecutive aces by Copelli and a service error by Pineto proved decisive.

Manuel, Dimitar Zlatanov's grandson, entered the tie-break but failed to score any points.

Set by set

First set (25:16) Consar started with a thunderous serve Russo scored three consecutive aces, while Guzzo and Canella dismantled the opponent in attack (52% efficiency). After 12-3, Pineto tried to come back, but the hosts allowed no surprises.

Second set (25:19) Abba held the tie until 8:8, but Ferri's two consecutive aces made the first break away. Russo continued to terrorize the opponent with his serve, and Guzzo closed the set.

Third set (21:25) The change in Pineto paid off Baeso came in as an opposite, the guests took a 0-4 lead and forced Valentini to call a timeout. Consar narrowed the gap to 13-16, but couldn't make a comeback.

Fourth set (17:25) Russo opened with ace number 6, but Pineto was transformed. The brave play in attack and the confidence of the guests ensured that the match went into a tie-break.

Fifth set (15:13) The tie-break was pure drama! Pineto led 0-2, 4-6, 6-9, but Ravenna always found the strength to come back. At 12-12, after a long video review, Copelli hammered two consecutive aces, and a service error by Di Silvestre brought the victory to Consar.
