Radostin Stoychev: "Rumors don't destabilize me!"

Rana Verona's coach, Radostin Stoychev, reviewed the team's and club's development during a press conference before Sunday's match against Piacenza, while also commenting on rumors about his future. According to speculation, the Bulgarian specialist will not remain at the helm of the Italian team, and his place will be taken by Fabio Soli.

Stoychev: "Rumors don't destabilize me"

Stoychev remained firm that such claims do not change his way of working. "I have nothing to add to what I said in January. I am focused only on working with the team and on the results. Rumors do not destabilize me and do not change my way of working," he stated.

The specialist also emphasized the value of the club's development, stating that the Verona project is 60-65% complete. "The first team, the audience, events, structures, and organization are complex aspects of development. You either have large economic resources or you work hard every day. Many people here gave their heart and soul for this growth," the coach added.

The curious coincidence with Micah Christenson

During the press conference, an interesting fact was also raised – for the second time in his career, Stoychev has signed American setter Micah Christenson without subsequently having the opportunity to coach him. Back in 2018 in Modena, he insisted on his recruitment, but his split with the club then prevented him from working with the American. Now, with Christenson already announced as a new addition to Verona, history seems to be repeating itself.

Stoychev accepted the situation with a sense of humor: "It brings bad luck, you say?" – effectively confirming the transfer, but also hinting at his possible departure.

A look at the upcoming matches

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Stoychev remains focused on the team's performance. "We must be clear and precise in the simple things. Against Piacenza, if we concede two points per set due to avoidable errors, it becomes impossible to win. We are working on these details and will try to reach the best possible level for the season's end," he commented.

The question remains – will Stoychev stay in Verona, or will fate once again lead him in another direction?
