Pirin Razlog continues to trouble the leaders, taking a point from second-placed Neftochimic. Last week, coach Katrandzhiev's boys inflicted the first home defeat on champions Levski.
The guests from Razlog had to make up a 0:2 deficit, but managed to take things to a tie-break after a spirited performance. With their backs against the wall, Neftochimic gave their all in the final set, as Pirin led until the change of sides - 8:9. Truhchev and Penchev secured the win for the hosts with good plays at the end of the tie-break.
David Krastev was outstanding, finishing with 29 points (1 ace) and 67% in attack. Nechev added 21, and captain Truhchev another 14 for the new coach Cadeddu's second five-set victory. Mariyan Nakov was Pirin's top scorer with 22 points (3 aces, 3 blocks).
At the block, the guests completely outplayed Neftochimic - 17/6.
