Lokomotiv Avia with a fifth consecutive victory, CSKA also triumphed in the 16th round of the volleyball championship

Lokomotiv Avia continues its impressive performance since the beginning of 2025 in the men's volleyball championship. Head coach Nayden Naydenov's team achieved their fifth consecutive victory, defeating Beroe with a decisive 3:0 (25:21, 25:23, 25:16) in a match from the midweek 16th round.

With this success, the "black and whites" accumulated 30 points and temporarily climbed to third place in the standings, surpassing Montana, who is yet to play against Hebar (Pazardzhik). Beroe remains in sixth place with 27 points, the same as fifth-placed CSKA.

Match progression

The match in the hall of Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski" started evenly, with both teams going point for point until the middle of the first set. After 16:11, Lokomotiv managed to take a 5-point lead, but Beroe reduced the difference to 19:20. Nevertheless, the hosts held the pressure and closed the set at 25:21.

In the second set, Lokomotiv started to dictate the tempo after 14:14 and reached a lead of 21:16, which proved sufficient for a 25:23 success.

The loss of the first two parts negatively affected Beroe, and in the third set, the "black and whites" completely dominated, closing the match with 25:16. The MVP of the match was Lokomotiv's libero Martin Ivanov.
